A week before the Kavanaugh trial began, I finally became public about being date-raped, getting pregnant and having an abortion while in college in 1983.
What finally triggered it was the brave story from Patti Davis about why she didn’t report. When I wrote my own story I had no idea that #WhyIDidn’tReport had been trending on Twitter for hours. Once I figured it out I began to read all of the stories, crying with them and commenting when I felt I had something poignant to share. Otherwise I clicked on the heart emoji.
